Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application Consumer Brochure Working Group

The Clinical Systems Support Team (CSST) is recruiting a team of 5+ mental health consumers and carers to be a part of a working group to create two brochures for mental health consumers in Queensland.

The Consumer Integrated Mental Health Application (CIMHA) is Queensland’s electronic medical record for mental health consumers. Soon mental health teams across Queensland will be sending consumers’ Transfer of Care (discharge summary) documents and Care Plans electronically to GP practice management software. Previously, this information has been sent manually via post or fax.

The brochures are being developed to advise consumers and carers about the CIMHA system in general, and the upcoming change.

Purpose

The working group will collaborate on the design of a brochure that gives clear and consumer-friendly information about these upcoming changes. The diverse backgrounds of the members of the group will help ensure that the brochure meets the needs of a wide range of consumers.

Role of the consumers

Consumers will be involved in a collaborative, co-design project. Consumers will be expected to share their viewpoints, raise ideas and provide feedback and input into the wording and design of the brochure.

Who is it for?

This opportunity is open to all consumers who have a lived experience receiving mental health care in Queensland. It is also open to carers who have provided support to people receiving mental health care in Queensland. We are seeking consumers and carers from a variety of backgrounds for this working group.

Time and location

The initial meeting will be approximately one hour, and will include orientation, briefing and induction. This meeting may be attended via teleconference for participants not based in Brisbane.

The next session will be 3-4 hours in duration to develop the brochure.

A follow up session will be held for approximately one hour to view and discuss the completed design.

The location will be at the Brisbane Square Library, Meeting room 1.3 (on level one).

8 October:          10 – 11am
10 October:        12 – 4pm
24 October:        10 – 11am

 

Getting to the venue

No dedicated car parking is available at this library, however there are paid parking options within walking distance.

The library is walking distance from multiple public transport options (train, ferry and bus).

 

Remuneration and Support

Remuneration will be $40 per hour in line with Health Consumers Queensland’s remuneration position statement.

Public transport, parking fees and private motor vehicle use will be reimbursed. Private motor vehicle use will be reimbursed at a rate of 37.5cents per km for automobiles and 15cents per km for motorcycles.

For consumers based outside of Brisbane in regional, rural or remote locations, videoconferencing facilities will be arranged.
