Expressions of Interest – QLD Health System Outlook – Strategy Review and Workshop

System Planning Branch is providing a consumer representative a unique opportunity to contribute to the Queensland Health System Outlook for a Sustainable Health Service (the System Outlook) – an important project that will guide sustainable health service provision in the future.

System Planning Branch, Department of Health, is responsible for aligning health services with changing patterns of need, while making the most effective use of current and future resources. It guides the Department in its response to changes in population need and service demand, and emerging trends in service delivery.

Purpose

The System Outlook will inform health service planning, funding and delivery to ensure a health system that provides the best possible health outcomes for Queenslanders and is sustainable for future generations.

Role of the Consumer

It is anticipated that the consumer’s role as a key stakeholder in this project will include:

  • reviewing the draft System Outlook (approximately 10 pages)
  • providing feedback or input to project team in one-on-one meeting (can be teleconference written feedback – consumer’s preference)
  • attendance at half-day workshop.

Who is it for?

The ideal candidate/s will be Brisbane based and have lived experience accessing and the public health system, as well as a solid understanding of the health system. They will also have some type of experience providing feedback at a high level accompanied by a high level of literacy.

Time and location

Week of 18/2/2019: Document provided for pre-reading and one-on-one consultation (can be face-to-face, teleconference or written feedback via email – consumer’s preference)

Week of 25/2/2019: half day workshop, location to be determined (in Brisbane).

 

Remuneration and support

Consumers will be remunerated for their time in line with Health Consumers Queensland’s remuneration position statement. Parking and or bus/train fees will be covered (Brisbane only).
