Consumer representative recruitment

Health Consumers Queensland can manage the recruitment of consumer representatives and advisory group membership for health services.

We have a network of consumers and carers across Queensland with a range of health consumer experiences. We are constantly expanding our connections within the community and conducting training of consumers and carers to ensure they are effective, skilled representatives who can participate as effective partners up to the highest level of your health service.

Strategic advice

Health Consumers Queensland can provide strategic advice to health services developing or reviewing their consumer and community engagement strategies.

We also have a comprehensive Consumer and Community Engagement Framework available which gives health providers an effective guide for developing their partnership strategies.

To accompany our Consumer and Community Engagement Framework, in 2018 we developed a user-friendly guide for staff, A Guide for Health Staff Partnering with Consumers. This guide can be used by staff in any area and at any level of a health organisation to support partnering with consumers. For Queensland Health

Health Consumers Queensland has been funded by Queensland Health to support health consumers and carers to have a voice in how Queensland’s public health services are planned and delivered by undertaking a broad range of activities.

For Private, Allied and Primary Health Providers

Health Consumers Queensland has experience working with private health care providers and Primary Health Networks to support their consumer engagement activities.
