The Royal Flying Doctor Service Queensland Section (RFDS) is seeking eight health consumer or carer representatives to participate in the newly established Consumer Advisory Group in 2023.
- Provide a consumer and community perspective to improve RFDS health services in regional, rural and remote Queensland and the experience of others using the service.
- Share your lived experience as a health consumer to help improve and influence RFDS health services.
- Participate in focus groups/working groups/governance committees in areas of interest within the organisation.

The Department of Health is providing two (2) health consumer representatives with a unique opportunity to participate on the Queensland Maternity and Neonatal Clinical Network (QMNCN) Steering Committee.
The position requires personal experience as a health consumer, strong links with maternity and neonatal community groups/networks and the ability to present practical advice that reflects health consumers’ real-life experiences. Your contribution as a consumer representative will help to improve and support clinical services.
As the peak body of clinical expertise in Queensland the Clinical networks serve as an independent point of reference, for clinicians, consumers, Hospital and Health Services and the Department of Health. The Clinical Networks guide quality and improvement reform and support clinical policy development, emphasising evidence-based practice and clinical consensus to guide implementation, optimisation and provision of high-quality consumer focused health care.

Patient Safety and Quality, Clinical Excellence Queensland is seeking two (2) health consumer or carer representatives to participate in a working group for the planned statewide Outpatient Department patient experience survey that will commence from May 2023.
The survey will capture real-time Patient Reported Experience Measures (PREMs) from patients of Outpatient clinics to support clinicians in partnering with patients to achieve safe, high quality care.
The working group members will include consumer representatives, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, administrative and clinic managers and project leads. Members will be invited to share their experience and expertise by providing input into the selection of the survey questions and survey design.
Applicants will have a lived experience accessing Queensland Health’s Outpatient Department clinics or services. You’ll also have working group / committee experience, either at the Statewide or Hospital and Health Service level and an interest in the delivery of treatment and care arranged through Outpatient clinics and services.

The Centre for Healthcare Transformation, Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking up to three consumer or carer representatives, to join their Consumers in Research Workgroup.
The aim of the Consumers in Research Workgroup is to provide advice and support to researchers to partner with consumers throughout their research projects and be involved in various research activities including planning, conducting the research (asking the questions) and communicating the outcomes. At meetings, consumer representatives will be required to provide practical advice regarding key responsibilities including:
– grant applications
– research processes that include consumers
– resources for clinical and research staff
– strategic plans.

The Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Strategy and Planning Branch (MHAOD SPB) invites one consumer or carer representative to join a new Independent Review Panel. The panel will provide advice in the EOI process to identify Lead Providers who will establish and operationalise the Head to Health Kids Service in Queensland.
The Head to Health Kids Service in Queensland will be designed and operate as a child mental health and wellbeing service for children aged 0-12 and their families, targeting mild to moderate emerging complexity.
This opportunity would suit a consumer/ carer representative with:
- extensive level committee experience, or review panels either at the Hospital and Health Service, or Statewide level. For example, your local Hospital and Health Service (HHS), community organisations, Primary Health Networks (PHNs), research organisations or at a Statewide Level such the Department of Health.
- experience on committees related to child, youth, family health, mental health and wellbeing service development or delivery.
- experience in health as a consumer (with lived childhood experience), or parent or carer.
