Health Consumers Queensland has an opportunity for two (2) consumers or carers living In the Brisbane South region to host a kitchen table discussion or yarning circle with 10 community members to learn about the experiences of the LGBTIQ+ community in the context of serious illness, dying, death or grief within the Brisbane south region.

About the project

Health Consumers Queensland has been contracted by Palliative Care Queensland to facilitate two (2) kitchen table discussions/yarning circles in February/March to learn about the experiences of the LGBTIQ+ community in the context of serious illness, dying, death or grief within the Brisbane South region.

Palliative Care Queensland will share the outcomes of the community consultations with Brisbane South PHN, the PalliChat BSth Project Steering Committee, to be used to inform the development of future projects and initiatives to ensure the inclusion of the LGBTIQ+ community.

Who are we seeking as hosts?

Consumers/carers who have had a family member (or themselves) experience a serious illness, dying, death or grief in Brisbane South area and people identifying as part of the LGBTIQ+ community.
