Purpose
The BaSCI Project is supporting Queensland Health and Hospital Services to implement actions within the Statewide adult spinal cord injury health service plan 2016-2026 and the Statewide adult brain injury rehabilitation service plan 2016-2026. Patients with brain or spinal cord injuries will benefit from BaSCI with more equitable access to specialised rehabilitation care closer to home. This will be achieved through the expansion and improvement of existing health services across the care continuum, and the piloting of new service models.
Two working groups have been established. The purpose of the BaSCI working groups facilitate the appropriate expertise to achieve the project mandatory deliverables, specific to acquired brain injury (ABI) rehabilitation services and spinal cord injury (SCI) services, to meet the project deliverables.
Scope and deliverables documents for the 2 groups have been developed and endorsed and are available on request.
Reporting up to the Statewide Advisory Committee through the Project in Team Healthcare Improvement Unit the working groups will ensure a clinician and consumer-led approach to the work and allow for broad input from service users in project delivery.
