Consumer Opportunities

Health Consumers Queensland partners with many organisations to recruit consumers to be involved in enagagement activities at all levels of the health system. Together we aim to address emerging challenges faced by the health system and the evolving needs of consumers. Your insights and perspectives are essential in shaping better health outcomes for your communities and we value the lived experience and personal commitment of health consumer representatives working with us to influence change. Invitation to join next Queensland Clinical Senate workshop
Expressions of Interest close 6 March 2026

Health Consumers Queensland is proud to work with the Queensland Clinical Senate for an upcoming consumer partnering opportunity. We are inviting 10 consumer representatives to attend the next Clinical Senate workshop on ‘Care before crisis: reimagining prevention across the healthcare system’.

Prevention is critical to improving health outcomes, reducing avoidable harm, and ensuring a sustainable healthcare system. Many chronic and infectious conditions can be prevented or detected early through evidence-based approaches such as healthy behaviours, vaccination, screening, and timely intervention.

This workshop will bring together clinicians and consumers to explore where prevention can be better embedded across the system, how we can partner more effectively to address risk early, and what enablers are needed to shift from crisis-driven care to proactive, preventive health for all Queenslanders.

Workshop will be held on 23-24 April 2026 at Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Brisbane

Invitation to join study and influence co-design of resources
Applications close 26 February 2026

Researchers at University of Queensland are inviting consumers to participate in a study that aims to improve hospital-to-home transitions for children discharged on oral antibiotic therapy.

The project aims to identify parents’ information needs and preferences and co-design practical, easy-to-understand resources that support families in managing care confidently at home. Involving consumers directly in interviews and co-design workshops will inform resources that reduce anxiety, improve adherence to treatment, and enhance health outcomes for children.
